The Haggerty Museum of Art was completed in August, 1984, though the joint efforts of the Marquette University Women’s Council funding campaign and the University Committee on the Fine Arts. Designed by the late O’Neil Ford of Ford, Powell and Carson, San Antonio, Tex., and David Kahler of Kahler, Slater, Torphy, and Engberg of Milwaukee, Wis., the 20,000-square-foot building contains galleries on two levels. The vertical thrust and angular planes of the interior combine with natural skylighting to create a unique architectural space for the contemplation of works of art
